Kinetic Engineering Unveils Robotic Chassis Line To Drive Next-Gen EV Manufacturing

Kinetic Engineering Ltd., part of Kinetic India, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Robotic Chassis Line at its Ahilya Nagar facility in Maharashtra, marking a major leap in automation and advanced manufacturing. The new line integrates robotic welding for the Kinetic DX EV, clamping auto fixtures, and a dedicated scooter framing cell, ensuring precision, structural accuracy, and higher productivity. The automation also enhances safety while reducing errors and boosting efficiency.

The company has simultaneously upgraded other parts of the facility. The metal body panel line now features hydraulic and mechanical presses, spot welding guns, and pneumatic clamping fixtures, delivering greater accuracy and reliability in panel fabrication. The paint shop has been modernised with a 7-tank process including CED coating and metallic top coating, providing world-class corrosion resistance and premium finishes.

A dedicated parts store has also been introduced, equipped with robust quality systems, individual gauges for every part, and kit-based supply aligned with sub-assembly needs. This digitised approach improves inventory management and ensures smoother line operations.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Kinetic Engineering Ltd., said, “With the inauguration of our Robotic Chassis Line, we are not just upgrading a facility, we are reimagining how manufacturing should be done in India. This move ensures unmatched consistency and reliability while setting a benchmark for how automation can transform traditional industries. At Kinetic, we believe this is part of a larger shift where Indian manufacturing stands shoulder to shoulder with the best in the world.”
