From OEM to OED: Ebusco Reinvents Itself at Busworld Europe 2025

Ebusco is showcasing its latest breakthroughs in sustainable mobility at Busworld Europe 2025, underlining a strategic transformation from OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) to OED (Original Equipment Developer). This shift, supported by collaborations with contract manufacturers and Ebusco’s facilities in Deurne (Netherlands) and Cléon (France), has already resulted in improved delivery performance and a renewed focus on engineering excellence.

With more than 900 Ebusco buses on the road, the company is reinforcing its reputation as a proven gamechanger in zero-emission public transport. The Ebusco 2.2 continues to demonstrate robust performance with a range of up to 600 km on a single charge, while the Ebusco 3.0 sets new standards with an extended range of up to 700 km, fully flat floors with integrated batteries, and the industry’s lowest total cost of ownership.

A comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), conducted in collaboration with TNO, confirms the environmental benefits of the Ebusco 3.0 across its entire lifecycle. The results form part of an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), further validating Ebusco’s commitment to reducing CO₂ emissions per kilometre.

For operators, Ebusco buses deliver tangible financial and operational advantages – from reduced energy consumption and lower operational costs to fewer charging requirements, simplified planning, and greater flexibility in managing charging based on cost and grid availability.

Ebusco is also spotlighting its latest developments, including the integration of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), compliance with cybersecurity (R155) and software update (R156) standards, and roll-over certification (R66) for the 18-meter Ebusco 2.2. Additional innovations in energy storage, fast charging, and smart monitoring further enhance fleet performance and safety.

“By focusing on what we do best – engineering and development – we are shaping the future of sustainable mobility,” the company affirms. “Our mission is to continue setting benchmarks in energy efficiency, passenger comfort, and total cost of ownership for operators worldwide.”
